Returns & Exchanges Policy

Our Commitment to You

At Bayside Shoes, we want you to shop with confidence.

We understand that purchasing shoes, clothing, and accessories online means you may not have the opportunity to try items on before buying. That’s why we offer a straightforward returns and exchanges process for eligible items.

In addition to your rights under this policy, you are also entitled to certain consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies your rights under the ACL.


Change of Mind Returns

If you change your mind about your purchase, you may return eligible item(s) within 14 days of receiving your order, provided that:

  • The item is unworn, unused, and in original condition
  • All original packaging, tags, and shoe boxes are included
  • The item is not marked as Final Sale or Non-Returnable
  • Proof of purchase is provided

Please note:

  • Returned items must not be damaged, marked, or altered in any way
  • Shoe boxes must not be used as external postage packaging
  • For hygiene reasons, some accessories may not be eligible for return

How to Return an Item

Customers are responsible for arranging and paying return postage costs for change-of-mind returns and exchanges unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

We strongly recommend using a tracked postage service, as Bayside Shoes cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit.


Exchanges

If you require a different size, colour, or style, we are happy to offer an exchange subject to stock availability.

Exchange Shipping Fees

Australia

  • Standard exchange shipping fee: $14.95
  • Larger or bulky items (including gumboots) may incur additional freight charges

New Zealand

  • Exchange shipping fees range from $19.95 to $29.95 depending on size and weight

If the new item is:

  • Higher in value — you will be required to pay the difference
  • Lower in value — the difference will be refunded to your original payment method

Refunds for Change of Mind

If you choose a refund instead of an exchange:

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for purchase
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable
  • Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer

If a promotional discount or coupon code was applied to your order, the refund amount will reflect the discounted purchase price paid.

Refunds are generally processed within 3–5 business days after the returned item has been received and inspected.


Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items

Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund where products:

  • Are faulty or defective
  • Are not of acceptable quality
  • Do not match the description provided
  • Are not fit for their intended purpose

If you believe your item is faulty, damaged, or you have received the incorrect item, please contact us as soon as possible at sales@baysideshoes.com.au with:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photographs where applicable

Where a product is confirmed to have a major fault, Bayside Shoes will provide a refund, replacement, or repair in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

For approved faulty or incorrect item claims, Bayside Shoes will cover reasonable return shipping costs.


Important Return Conditions

To be eligible for a return:

  • Items must be returned within 14 days of delivery for change-of-mind requests
  • Items must be returned in original condition with all packaging and tags included
  • Returns that do not meet these conditions may be declined and returned to the sender
