Exchanges, Returns and Refunds

What is the returns policy for my online order?

We want you to love your purchase. However, we understand that buying footwear online can be challenging — shoe sizes, widths and fit vary significantly between brands and styles. We strongly recommend checking our Size Guide before ordering, and if you're unsure about fit or width, please contact us before placing your order at sales@baysideshoes.com.au or call (03) 9785 1887.

Change of Mind / Sizing Returns (Full-Priced Items Only)

We offer a 14-day change-of-mind return or exchange policy on full-priced merchandise only, for incorrect sizing or wrong fit. The following conditions must all be met:

  • Returned within 14 days of the order date
  • Item must be unworn, with original tags still attached — we cannot accept shoes with dirty marks, scuffs or damaged soles
  • Items must be returned in the original, undamaged shoe box — do not attach tape, labels or shipping forms directly to the box, as this will void your return
  • Postage costs are non-refundable
  • A restocking fee of $14.95 (New Zealand $19.95) applies to all change-of-mind returns and exchanges

Sale items are excluded from our change-of-mind return policy. All purchases are final for sale and discounted items, except where your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply (see Faulty Items below).

Bayside Shoe Warehouse reserves the right to refuse a return if these conditions are not met.

What are my options when returning an item?

  1. We do not offer online exchanges, however you can email us at sales@baysideshoes.com.au with your request and we will contact you to discuss a solution.
  2. If your product is or becomes faulty — the goods will be assessed by our team and if deemed faulty we will offer you a refund of the purchase price, a store credit, or a replacement if the product is still available.

Can I return or exchange my online purchase in store?

Yes. You are welcome to return any unworn items to our Bayside Shoe Warehouse store at 103 Railway Parade, Seaford. Please ensure the shoes are unworn and unused with original tags still attached. We recommend calling ahead on (03) 9785 1887 to avoid disappointment. Proof of purchase is required.

Please note: if you purchased with Afterpay, you cannot return in store. Please contact us at sales@baysideshoes.com.au or call (03) 9785 1887 to arrange your return and refund.

Faulty Items — Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), you have guaranteed rights regardless of whether your item was full-priced or on sale. If your item is faulty, unsafe, or significantly different from what was described, you are entitled to a remedy — this applies to all purchases including sale items.

If you believe your item is faulty:

  • Take clear photos showing the fault
  • Email us at sales@baysideshoes.com.au with your order number and a description of the fault
  • Do not post the item until you have received a confirmation email from us with instructions

Once your return is received and assessed as faulty, we will offer you a full refund of the purchase price (including any original delivery charge), a replacement, or a store credit.

How long will it take for my refund to be processed?

Once we receive your return and confirm it meets our return conditions, we will process your refund within 2–3 business days. Once processed, please allow a further 5–10 business days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer. In total, please allow up to 10 business days from the date we receive your return.

How do I return my online order?

Please contact our team at sales@baysideshoes.com.au and include:

  • Your order number
  • The item you wish to return
  • The reason for return

The shoe box is just as important as the shoes themselves. Do not attach shipping forms, tape, or labels directly to the shoe box — doing so may void your return. Wrap the shoe box in separate packaging before posting.

How will my refund work if I paid with Afterpay?

Once a refund has been processed to your Afterpay account, Afterpay will contact you to confirm the refund amount depending on how many payments you have made. For example, if you have only paid 2 instalments, Afterpay will refund the amount already paid and cancel the remaining balance. This may mean a partial refund until all instalments have been captured.
